Want a horse?

04.22.10 | 3 Comments

My encounters with horses has been few and in-between. Before coming to Netherlands, needless to say, I have not encounter a horse. But over here, it is a different matter. Little girls grow up wanting a pony.. wanting riding lessons and such. S is more than familiar with such as she grew up reading lots of Enid Blyton stories.

The Kampina is a beautiful reserve that is near our place that we regularly go to. Although we have seen lots of cows and horses poop around (FYI – they taste yummmy), we have never seen them around. We figured that they were really shy of us.

Imagine.. one day – on a very lovely spring day.. when H came home early and took us all out….and this was wat we saw..

All wild horses… naturally, we left them to their own business.. and went on with our walk.

Imagine to our surprise, when we went to the Kampina yesterday.. we saw them again. You have to know that the Kampina is giantic… you can walk and walk for hours and not see a single soul one..

We thought that like previously.. they’d leave us alone.. but noooooo!

One of them started walking towards us…

Insisted on being petted…

Decided that he really likes us..

And wanted to become one of our pack and follow us home.

He even called his friends to join us..

So now.. we have 6 horses at our house and they refuse to go back to the Kampina.

Does anyone want a horse?
