I’m not as good as Shadow, Chance and Sassy.. but i’m following their footsteps for sure, though not all the way back to Singapore. I like it here in Netherlands, given that it’s the 3rd happiest place on Earth!
See what happened was that everyone was out on day.. and Aunty L, together with Boelie and Mokka took me out for a mid-day walk in a forest near our house. It’s a place that i have walked from our house before and we love it there. Now, normally S and I will walk around for 1 hr in the woods. However, on that fateful day, i decided that after 1/2 hr of walking with Aunty L, i had it, i wanted to go home and check if S was home already.
Once i made up my mind, no amount of treats and calling will get me back. And i walked so fast that Aunty L lost me! Needless to say, she was frantic and went around in the forest looking for me. Failing to do that, she went back to the car to see if i was there.. but i wasn’t. It was only at the last resort that she went to our house… and guess what, I was outside the house hanging out with my neighbour, Baloe.
Instead of being mad at me, she was so relieved to find me that i got kisses instead of scoldings! But walking off has bad repercussions. I will never get to walk off leash when S is not with me anymore! No one trusts me any more.
i think that i’m pretty smart to walk all the way home, at least 1.5 – 2 km home without having to ask for directions after being here for 1 month!
Oh… and i got to meet Arki too…

King Dog: My humans would have absolutely screamed at the top of their lungs if I ran off like that. You need to give your humans many many kisses for scaring them like that!! Good thing you are a Border Collie with the smarts to find your way back home. As for the cat…u should show him the BC eye next time you see him and see if he jumps up on the curtain rods. That was always a great game my older BC brother liked to play before he went to doggie heaven a couple of months ago.

Not a wise move to walk off by yourself. You’ll always be on leash with your Aunt now because she really can’t trust you. Our mom and dad don’t yell at us either when we escape, they think that only makes not want to come home. We are always on leash whenever we go outside the yar.
