Various happenings..

i was supposed to write about some happenings previously.. but didn’t get the chance to, so now it is time to play catch up.

i got embroiled in another copyright issue again.

See there is this very popular video out there, titled “100 dog breeds morphing” that actually had my picture and Dazzle’s picture on it. In fact, it was Dazzle‘s owner who alerted S about it.

In all fairness, it is a relatively nice featuring breeds of dogs morphing.

Now, i’m very sure that the author of the video didn’t own copyright to the pictures he used. And needless to say, he most definitely did not ask for permission from Dazzle or me.

We wrote to the author first, telling him that he was using our pictures illegally… and requested that he remove our pictures. But he wasn’t able or maybe was reluctant to. He did say that he will credit us for our pictures. But see, i didn’t feel that he got the message that taking pictures from the internet especially from places that users put it up (hence having a contact point) is STEALING and WRONG, hence requested that he put up a notice.

But he didn’t want to, so we got into touch with youtube and had it removed. We are still in the process of getting the same video removed from other video hosting companies. Meanwhile, we’re just hanging on.

On a much happier note.. the painting for Claudine arrived!!!

I’m so mighty pleased with it. All i need is a frame to get it framed up. Now you know why i’m so busy.
