I live in Los Angeles and I’m very curious about “hashing”. The hash site gives a lot of information, but could you answer a few questions that are probably obvious to you (but not to someone who isn’t local):
Why do you start so late in the afternoon?
How warm was it during the rain? (here, if it’s raining the temperature is probably about 8-degrees centigrade!)
Thanks!
Hi hi,
Well, Singapore’s located at the equator. So, it’s hot all year round. We start in the late afternoon so that it is cooler to run but still enough light. The temperature before the rain was probably 30 degrees centigrade and during and after is probably 26 degrees centigrade thereabouts.
Hashing is a international sport. There should be local chapters where you are staying. And yes.. people do hash in all sorts of weather.
You can check out http://www.gthhh.com/ for more information on the World Hash House Harriers. And here’s a link for the HHH of Southern California. http://www.hash.org/
Hope you do try hashing… and maybe come and visit our chapter as a foreign spy in the future!
We’re glad U enjoyed the rib, Kingsley. We had the same for our din din after the DASH too. It was very yummy yummy. When we were told that Sparky turned his nose away, our jaws dropped! No dog should bark “No” to raw juicy ribs! & the GR drooling from watching you chowing down. Poor gal. We’re glad her owner decided she could try a couple of pieces.
We wonder what we’ll have for the next DASH.
Thanks for the info, Kingsley! I think Tropical HASH’s are the way to go: Los Angeles HASH’s are pretty raunchy and involve a lot more beer drinking before, during and after the run (which, for a non-beer drinker, is kind of a waste).
And the nearest Dog-HASH is in Wisconson–it would almost be easier to go to yours! (Except I couldn’t come because, as a dog, I don’t think I could survive a 16 hour plane trip!) Maybe L will go and bring me back your autograph!
wow! All these fun in Singapor?!?!!?
didn’t know there’s such fun outing!!
